Arvind eye Hospital provides 70% free service to patient suffering from any eye vision as it has four OTS with a capacity for 320 inpatient and take care of 800 outpatients with 200 surgeries daily. The Hospital is the head quarter for Madurai eye Bank Association and receives corneas from various institutions in India and Unites states. In terms of productivity the Aravind Eye Hospital ranks top in the world which is situated in Tamil Nadu state in India.

The Hospital is highly speciality clinics such as retina and vitreous, cornea, glaucoma, IOL, Pediatric ophthalmology, neuro- ophthalmology, uvea , orbit and ocoloplasty by a high qualified specialists. Through its development and expenditure new hospital was established in Theni, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore and Pondicherry. Through its 40percent margin the hospital is able to run and does not depend on the donors or funds and also the hospital manufacture all the materials needed for the patient.
During the period of April 2010 to March 2011 more than 12,646129 out patients were visits and more than 315.483 surgeries had been performed and three- forth of the surgeries were performed free or a very reasonable rate. More than 5% of ophthalmic surgeries are performed nationwide. Through its performance in the health The Arvind Eye Hospital has been rewarded the 2008 Gates Global health award.
